Beautiful San Dimas
There are some lovely golden hills in this Southern California
One day I took a walk to study subject matter for a new painting. I decided to
feature a tree in brilliant red autumn foliage. A sign by the path warned that there was a mountain lion in the
area. I didn't see one, but you might imagine a pair of golden eyes peeking from behind a nearby bush.
Learn to make clean mixtures when you mix paint.
If you are working with acrylics and need an opaque color, mix one
opaque color with one or two transparent colors. Opaque means you can't see through a layer of
paint. Transparent means that you can see through it.
Try not to mix more than three colors in a mixture. More than that
and your newly mixed color tends to get muddy. Opaque and transparent colors are labeled on the
better brands of acrylic paint.
